In August 2016 the Department of Health published draft regulations relating to the Labelling, Advertising and Composition of Cosmetics in terms of the Foodstuffs, Cosmetics and Disinfectants Act 54 of 1972. The CTFA submitted comments on behalf of the industry and was instrumental in influencing a further redraft which was published on the 22 December 2017. The redraft is open for public comments until 22 March 2018. The CTFA in conjunction with a dedicated workgroup made up of member companies are currently reviewing the redraft and will be submitting further comments.
After 24 years of self-regulation the industry will become a regulated one post-promulgation. The global regulatory environment has developed considerably over the last two decades and the regulations are a positive step in building the future of our industry.
Don’t miss this update on how this watershed change will affect the cosmetic industry within the regulatory space.
Please Note: This is a free session – open to CTFA members only.
