SANS 98:2012 Edition 1.1 Table of changes Change No. Date Scope Amdt 1 2012 Amended to update the footnotes on contact details for normative references, to add parfum or aroma to the order of declaration in the clause on specific requirements and to renumber the items accordingly, to add a subclause on parfum and aroma ingredients in the clause on specific cases, to update the annex on examples of ingredient labelling that use the EU and harmonized INCI nomenclature, to update the annex on the listing of ingredients, and to update the bibliography. Foreword This South African standard was prepared by National Committee SABS/TC 217, Cosmetics , in accordance with procedures of the South African Bureau of Standards, in compliance with annex 3 of the WTO/TBT agreement. This document was published in April 2012. This document supersedes SANS 98:2006 (edition 1). A vertical line in the margins shows where the text has been technically modified by amendment No. 1. A reference is made in 4.1 to "the relevant national legislation". In South Africa this means the Legal Metrology Act, 2014 (Act No. 9 of 2014). Annexes A and B are for information only. Compliance with this document cannot confer immunity from legal obligations. Reaffirmed and reprinted in March 2019.
