SANS 1557:2019 Edition 4 50 Annex E (normative) Test procedure and chronology for the determination of water resistance E.1 Randomization of test sites The test procedure allows for two or more products to be tested at the same time. Figure E.1 gives an illustrative example of how multiple products may be positioned on a single subject. Test site positioning shall always be randomized on each individual subject and across the whole panel of volunteers. Key MEDus is the unprotected, dry MED (non-immersed in water). MEDuw is the unprotected, wet MED (post-immersion in water). MEDps is the protected, dry MED (non-immersed in water). MEDpw is the protected, wet MED (post-immersion in water). Figure E.1 — Test sites E.2 Test chronology and procedure E.2.1 General The procedure given in E.2.2 to E.2.4 (inclusive) shall be followed for each volunteer, and shall be repeated on between 10 and up to 20 volunteers, until statistical criteria are satisfied.
